Mumtaz had made a start on her Squarespace website but wasn’t quite happy with how it was shaping up. After searching for a Squarespace designer in Wellington to help finish an author site, she found me – and we set to work transforming her vision into a warm, engaging online home for her debut novel, Betting on a Hijabi.

Taking inspiration from the bold, joyful cover design, I created a fun, visually rich website that captures the book’s vibrant energy while keeping things clean and easy to navigate. I wove playful design elements and a custom colour palette throughout, staying true to Mumtaz’s personal style. On the technical side, I configured the full e-commerce setup, including tailored shipping options for local and international orders — even accounting for signed and standard editions.

The result is a professional, personality-filled platform that lets Mumtaz share her story and sell her book with confidence.
