Piako Botanicals came to me as a growing Waikato flower business that had already built a loyal local following through markets, but was moving into ecommerce for the very first time. With a limited startup budget, the challenge was creating an affordable ecommerce website that still felt professional, visually beautiful and easy to use.

Rather than pushing the business towards a large and expensive custom website, we took a smarter approach by creating a clean one-page scrolling Squarespace website paired with an integrated online shop. This allowed Piako Botanicals to establish a strong online presence while keeping costs manageable for a new business entering online sales.

The website was designed to showcase seasonal flowers and dahlia tubers in a way that felt natural, approachable and highly visual, while still maintaining clear navigation and a smooth customer experience across both desktop and mobile devices.

Because the business operates seasonally, the ecommerce structure also needed to support changing product availability throughout the year. I worked closely on the website structure, user experience, content flow and overall customer journey to ensure the site could grow alongside the business over time.

The final result is a bright and welcoming ecommerce website that reflects the personality behind the brand while helping Piako Botanicals confidently transition from local markets into online sales across New Zealand.
